Medical Training For League Cadets and Sea Cadets

This course has a Sea Cadet and League Cadet version

EMS will be instructed by EMTs, Paramedics, Navy Hospital Corpsmen, and other medical professionals. The focus will be on emergency medicine, including CPR, AED, splinting, shock, controlling bleeding, immobilizing patients, and lifting & moving patients. Every EMS student will be certified in CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillators. 

While at training, students should expect to read between 75 and 100 pages each night, have 5-8 hours of lecture and practical application daily.  12yrs old is the recommended age requirement, but mature younger cadets may be considered if they can handle a heavy workload and have the recommendation of their CO and the EMS Training Officer. Every students should be prepared for a long class day, physical training after class, and nightly reading.
